Dodge Alternators

Before alternators, Dodge cars used to be run on generators, which supplied power to the electrical system and allowed headlights, dash lights, ignition coils and the radio to run. They were eventually replaced by alternators, which don’t possess commutators. That makes them lighter and cheaper than the old generators, as well as simpler (simpler parts in automobiles are preferable because there are fewer components to break or wear out). Most Dodge alternators possess a voltage regulator, which modulates the electricity dispersed and helps to maintain peak efficiency.
